Must provide a well-designed, scientifically proven, collaborative annual training and recovery program for assigned sports. This includes sport specific focus, safe and productive training, and experimentally proven methods emphasizing the goal of maximizing the physical potential of the student-athlete and reducing injury risk. Must be able to educate the student-athletes on program rationale, proper lifting techniques, speed mechanics, movement patterns, and recovery. Demonstrate a strong passion and energy to help motivate student-athletes. Current knowledge of the latest trends and technology to track student-athlete progress. Professional attributes needed for position include great communication skills with administrators, sport coaches, student-athletes, sports medicine staff, nutrition department, and sports science staff, as well as other strength coaches. Solid organizational skills and detailed documentation abilities are a must. Must have a positive coaching style and willingness to work and to invest the needed time to develop the student-athlete, which will include long hours, weekends, and team travel. Must adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the department, university, Big 10 Conference, and the NCAA. Willing to perform administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Sports Performance and Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Performance. Performs additional duties as assigned.
The hiring range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000.
